An overview of the knowledge and skills needed to improve literacy.

This one-time training, required during your service as a board member, fulfills the Idaho literacy training requirement. This webinar equips board members with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively support literacy improvement.

Important Information 
Learning Outcomes
  • The State Department of Education requires Literacy Intervention Training be completed by all school board members, per Idaho Code 33-1809.
  • The training will be live-streamed through Zoom and instructed by Lisa Colón Durham. 
  • Increase familiarity with literacy improvement resources.
  • Learn about data available for assessing progress.
  • Explore setting measurable goals for literacy improvement.
Live attendance at this training can be fully reimbursable by the State Department of Education for board members if the board has not already used their development funds for the year.
